Hello, Makers!

Welcome to BSU's MakerSpace

Project of the Month: __ by __

What is a Makerspace?

A makerspace is a creative learning environment. They offer you the tools, guidance, and space to create or work on an innovative project or learn a new skill. A makerspace inspires new perspectives for existing projects or ideas for new projects.

About our Makerspace

The BSU makerspace is a collaborative project between many departments. The central part of the makerspace is the Hub located in the Dana Mohler-Faria Science & Mathematics Center. If it is your first time visiting, this is where you want to go (see FAQ -> What we can offer you). The Hub is where we will check you in and determine where you should go next for the guidance or tools you need.
Workshops are an important aspect of our makerspace. See "Workshops" in the navigation bar to see what new skills you can learn!

Mandatory Safety Quiz!

Before your first visit you must pass the safety quiz with a score of 100%.
Make sure to read the safety rules and watch the training videos.

What to Bring

To use the makerspace please bring a valid photo ID (student IDs are fine). Children do not need IDs, but do need to be accompanied by an adult with one.
BSU has several places to eat within walking distance of the makerspace facilities, but it may be a good idea to bring snacks and a reusable water bottle.
Depending on what you intend to make it may also be a good idea to bring your laptop, headphones, safety goggles, or any supplies we may not have for you. If you have any questions about supplies you may need to bring please contact us.

We look forward to seeing you!
